Fall session coming in September!

Summer days at the lake beach still stretch in front of us....but September will soon be here!  We are planning to have 3 sessions this fall: September, October, November.  There is a $20 registration/supplies fee & the cost per 4 week session is $36 per child.  I want to give homeschool mamas a morning out at a reasonable cost - I charged $14 per 3 hour day when I ran a small program in Columbia!  Most of this goes to paying my co-teacher, gas & a love offering to the church.  I would like to hold our class to 12 again this year; that seemed to be just right :0)  With our wide age range of 2-8 we also plan to offer more challenges to our older ones....possibly learning to knit, acrylic paint on canvas, more cooking, etc. Either Miss Abbie or Miss Jamie will be co-teaching again!  Both are a joy & my right hands.  See you all soon!

A June Play Day!

The new playground!!  It is gorgeous :0)

Another angle

Josie, Tess & Bri loved the creek & mud the most - somehow all my pictures are taken outside!  I guess it was just so nice I never made it back inside ;0)  The big girls - 4 or 5 eight year olds spent most of their time in there dressing up & painting!

Bri, Alona, Tess & Gigi cooking up something yummy!  We had a lot of visitors, too, which was so fun!

Silas observes the cooking action

We had a great afternoon & I can't wait to do it again in July!  I think the moms had as much fun as the children - I know I loved getting to catch up with everyone :0)  Blessings & see you all SOON!

June Play day!

Coming up on Tuesday, June 17 from 12-2pm - a play day for the whole family!  Bring a lunch & a bike, and maybe a rake....we'll play inside & out & maybe even spread out some of the 700 bags of mulch on the new playground ;0)  This is not a drop off day, but if you are interested in one of those for July or August please let me know & I'll set it up!
See you all soon - missing you!!

Last day of the school year! May 13, 2014

Miss Jamie & Gigi playing a fun garden game

Silas & Zach working hard on their drawings

Ezra building a cool block town!

Ben works on his block town - the tongue helps ;0)

Isaac is "fixing the pipes in my bathroom so my house won't flood"!

Ahhhh, a quiet corner to curl up with a good book

Rachel gets all the animals ready for the flood!  (maybe the pipes were really leaking - good thing Isaac was working on it!)

Isaac working with tangrams

Ben exploring various textures in playdough

Ruth must think I'm really really old!!

Silas adds the final touches to the pipes - while Ruth read the owner's manual ;0)

Do I look funny through that prism??

Another mud day!

Josie found a lovely feather for her hair, and is making a delicious pot of stone soup on this chilly day....good day for bikes, though....see them all lined up behind her?

We have a great mud puddle creek for water!

Jamie is full of awesome riddles - and Ella, Rachel & Zach LOVE them!!

Oh what a fun year we have had!  We've all really bonded & I will miss seeing everyone each week.  I'm hoping to have a play day at least once per month this summer - hope everyone can come & play :0)  I love all of our sweet families & will keep each of these precious ones in my prayers!

May 6 - Water & Wheels day!

No Playschool last week - time to pick up Abbie from the airport!

She survived New Zealand AND Montana - Josie (& all of us!) are SO glad to have her home again :0)  Her next stop is Michigan next month to do some midwifery apprenticeship!

The boys loved these water beads as pretend food

Perfect weather last week for bike day & mud kitchen!

The creek had just enough water to supply the kitchen ;0)

Painting with water is always easy fun!
This week will be our last week at Playschool til this fall - but we may have some random play dates here & there!  Hopefully the rain will stop long enough for us to ride bikes & have another picnic this week :0)  The playground may be up, too, so I'm looking forward to our last day of play & fun!

April 22 - Feeling more like Spring!

Animals moving into their new home!

Building a maze for Ruby May (Rachel's guinea pig!)

2 x 2!  But, was there a train track in the Noah's Ark story?? :0)

Isaac figured out the logic puzzle - Miss Jamie offered her assistance!

The boys building swords with the new workbench

Tissue paper collage like Eric Carle (we read The Little Seed today)

Starting work on "Pharoah's Temple"

Zach working on a big wooden sword!

Light table play - so easy!  It's just a plastic bin w/ twinkle lights inside...we also put some water beads on top & those were really a hit :0) Dollar Tree find....

Kian adds a few finishing touches

And, the sword fight!  Fortunately it was short & no one lost any limbs - I think they decided about the time I did that it wasn't a good idea ;0)

Funny girls with their saran wrap heads!

"Frozen" play - they all seemed to know just what to do - except Josie & Ben!  Guess we're a bit behind the times ;0)

Everyone is sleeping - at least 4 or 5 of them!  Ella is directing the show!
Now that the crazy full moon is gone I think everyone is a bit more settled - last week they were all a bit squirrelly!  Another fun week & we are loving the warmer temps & getting to play outside longer :0)  No preschool next week!  We are picking Abbie up from the airport in Quincy!!  See you in May!
Love,
Miss Shannon & Miss Jamie
