Yippee! Finally an update!

My Zach visits now & then - here he is teaching how to make origami balloons!

The little lamb that stayed at my house for a week!

One of the sweet sheep we helped to shear at a nearby farm - hard work but fun :0)  We got 6 fleeces washed & have carded & spun some already!

Miss Jamie played Mystery Garden with Josie, Gigi, Silas, Ruth & Isaac - great guessing game b/c it teaches you how to ask good questions.

They just LOVE this!  So simple but works their pincher grips, teaches color mixing, cooperation....I could go on but this would be so easy to set up at home, too :0)  The tray is just one I had left over from starting seedlings years & years ago.

Silas & Ruth have discovered a bush with tons of little cocoons!

Rolling down our big hill!

I think these are minions or monsters!

Studying color & shadows - tracing

Kian had the idea to trace his hand

Zach studying Darth Vader on his shirt (see the mirror) & then drawing it at the easel - so clever!!

Jamie has some awsome ideas for art, too!

Lots of pictures, all jumbled together :0)  But we have had so much fun this session!  We started back on Tuesday, March 18 and began talking about spring changes, making bag kites, learning a March song, & starting sunflowers (they still haven't come up!).  The next week we learned the song "BINGO" - you know, "There was a farmer had a dog & Bingo was his name-o"?  Most everyone caught onto when they were supposed to clap, especially since we had a simple visual of the word up & crossed out a letter for each verse ;0)  Great for identifying letters, rhythm, group singing!  We also read a book called "Puddles", mixed colored water puddles & painted with watercolors.  April 1st we sang BINGO again, learned our April song, and read "The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" w/ the puppet & animal props!  We continued w/ watercolors & colored water mixing..bugs are starting to come out so I'm sure we'll expand on that theme soon ;0)  Last week we did more color explorations - reading "Color Zoo", playing color & shape BINGO (several read it & remembered the letters from our song - yeah!), ordered colors from darkest to lightest & talked about tints by adding white to blue (pics to come in next post).

What a fun & happy group of sweet children I am blessed to work with every week!  I love them all dearly and your families are in my prayers :0)
